JANE'S ADDICTION Frontman Shopping Music TV Series

According to The Pulse Of Radio, JANE'S ADDICTION frontman Perry Farrell is shopping a music performance TV series to broadcast networks for primetime airing. The series would not resemble "American Idol" or any other show devoted to amateur contestants, but would instead focus on live performances from popular, professional artists. The ratings are on Farrell's side: awards shows like the Grammys continue to post strong numbers thanks to impressive lineups of live performers, while late night talk shows and morning news programs, along with "Saturday Night Live", also benefit from having musical acts perform their latest hits live.

Pop acts have performed on TV going back to the days of Ed Sullivan, who introduced THE BEATLES to America, while the '70s saw the rise of late night music shows like "Don Kirshner's Rock Concert" and "Midnight Special".

Farrell just wrapped up another successful edition of the Lollapalooza festival, which he co-founded, in Chicago, and is back on the road with JANE'S ADDICTION.

The band's "Theatre Of The Escapists" tour hits Philadelphia on Wednesday (August 15),in support of the latest JANE'S album, "The Great Escape Artist".
